The NeuroKids Research Laboratory is dedicated to improving the quality of life and communication abilities of children who survive major childhood cancers and acquired brain injuries.
By bringing together a multidisciplinary team of health experts, the lab conducts clinical research in pediatric speech pathology to support children recovering from severe health conditions, such as brain tumors and leukemia.
The lab has developed Clinical Practice Guidelines specifically for managing communication and swallowing challenges in children diagnosed with these conditions. These guidelines aim to provide evidence-based care and are supported by the Cancer Institute NSW, with approval from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).
The NeuroKids Research Laboratory’s commitment to advocacy and research ensures that health professionals, parents, and survivors have the resources needed to support children’s recovery and long-term well-being.
